Cosmetic and Laser Procedures

Neurotoxins prevent facial wrinkles from appearing by relaxing the underlying muscles so they don’t contract. They block impulses from the nerve to the tiny facial muscles that are related to expression lines. After treatment, the overlying skin remains smooth and unwrinkled while the untreated facial muscles contract in a normal fashion, allowing your normal facial expression to be unaffected.
Chemical peels are used to create an even and controlled shedding of damaged skin cells. A chemical peel uses a solution applied to the skin to remove dead skin cells and stimulate the production of new skin cells. Chemical peels are used to decrease pigment irregularities, treat acne, reduce fine wrinkling and restore a more youthful appearance.
Scars form as part of the skin’s healing process whenever multiple layers of skin are injured. The injury may be the result of an accident, surgery, a burn or even severe acne. Scars can be disfiguring and some people become self-conscious of them. Fortunately, there are lasers that can improve the appearance of scars; Dr Ehrlich utilizes PDT (Vbeam®), Fraxel®, and UltraClear® to treat scars.
Pulse dye lasers deliver precise dosages of energy to each vein with minimal risk to the skin. In these treatments, light energy is delivered through a special handpiece to the targeted vein. The energy is then absorbed by the blood vessels. The heat/energy absorption causes hemocoagulation (clogging) of the blood vessel. The clogged vessel is then slowly absorbed by the body.

Fraxel® resurfacing is performed by Dr. Ehrlich to dramatically improve skin texture, smooth out acne scars, improve pigmentation problems such as melasma and brown spots, and reduce fine to moderate lines and wrinkles in just a few treatments with minimal or no downtime.

The Fraxel® laser stimulates regeneration of the deeper collagen and elastin tissues while resurfacing about 20% of your skin’s surface with each treatment. It remodels the collagen within the skin without harming your skin’s surface while producing smoother, fresher, younger-looking skin with minimal or no downtime. Fraxel® is also an effective treatment for facial or scalp precancers.

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) Photofacials are performed by Dr. Ehrlich to combat the effects of aging and damaged skin in a softer, more gentle way. The redness and flushing of rosacea can be reduced and sun spots can be lightened. It can be used to treat the full face, neck, chest, and even the hands.

Using the IPL system, Dr. Ehrlich gently delivers precise amounts of light energy through your skin’s surface. The energy is delivered at specific settings for each treatment to maximize your results. Treatments are spaced at 3-5 week intervals.

The UltraClear® laser is designed to treat wrinkles, sun damage, scars, and uneven pigmentation. Different applications can treat superficial or deeper layers of the skin. The treatment itself takes around 40 minutes but, depending on the setting used, the healing process can take several days to two weeks. Telangiectasias are those small red and purple blood vessels that appear on the face. Our medical lasers provide safe and effective non-surgical treatment options for the removal of spider and varicose veins. They deliver a precise dosage of energy to each vein. During your treatment, light energy is delivered through a special laser handpiece to the targeted vein in a series of brief pulses. The light energy is absorbed by the blood vessels but not the surrounding tissue. This heat absorption causes a coagulation of the blood vessel, which is subsequently absorbed by your body.
Microneedling is a minimally invasive treatment that transforms the look and feel of damaged skin to smoother and healthier looking skin. It involves a device that penetrates the skin creating controlled micro-dermal injuries. This stimulates the production of new collagen and elastin which in turn fills these imperfections thus improving skin texture and firmness. Radiofrequency microneedling combines heat with microneedling and will stimulate collagen and lead to some tightening of the skin with several treatments.
Platelet-rich-plasma (PRP) therapy is a non-surgical solution that can be performed to treat hair loss. This procedure improves the quality and thickens the hair resulting in a fuller healthier looking head of hair without surgery or messy creams. PRP is a revolutionary step in utilizing the body’s plasma to promote natural healing, rejuvenation and cellular growth. First, a small amount of the patient’s blood is withdrawn and processed to isolate the platelet–rich plasma and growth factors. Then, the highly concentrated rich PRP is placed back in the skin by injection. PRP is best utilized in combination with a hair loss treatment plan.
Sclerotherapy uses a solution injected into veins to cause shrinkage and closure of the vein. Spider veins, or telangiectasias, are those tiny purple and red blood vessels found most commonly on the thighs or lower legs of women. They are hereditary and can form anywhere on the leg, from the top of the thigh to the ankle. Occasionally, spider veins appear on the face. Sclerotherapy is performed by our doctor for patients to eliminate or minimize your spider veins on your legs. Small veins on the face or chest can be treated with a laser.

Tixel® is a device that improves skin texture and tone utilizing thermal energy (heat). This is a low downtime procedure that gives the skin a healthy glow. Generally 3 treatments are suggested.

The Vbeam® laser treatments are performed to effectively treat many skin disorders such as rosacea, small blood vessels on the face, angiomas, acne and scars. Vbeam® treatments are safe and effective with little-to-no pain and little-to-no bruising.

Facial wrinkles and creases begin to appear as the underlying collagen and elastin fibers begin to break down.. While this breakdown is part of the natural aging process, it can also result from excessive squinting, frowning and smiling.

Treatments with hyaluronic acid fillers such as Restylane® and LYFT® help patients meet their goals. This natural, synthesized and fully degradable hyaluronic acid that forms both Restylane® and LYFT® has been used for over twenty-five years.

The injections are placed within or beneath the skin where your body accepts it as its own. By supplementing the skin’s own collagen with injectable fillers, wrinkles, volume loss, and most scars are improved. Wrinkle filler injections improve the appearance of folds around the nose and lips, as well as refill the hollows on the cheeks and lower face.
